Business Office Manager

We have an immediate opening for a Business Office Manager.

General Summary: A non-exempt management position responsible for directing and coordinating the overall functions of the business office to ensure maximization of cash flow while improving patient, physician, and other customer relations.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees daily business office operations and delegates authority to assigned supervisors.
  • Plans and directs business office, patient insurance, billing and collections, and data processing to ensure accurate patient billing and efficient account collection.
  • Reviews current status of patient accounts to identify and resolve billing and processing problems.
  • Establishes and implements a system for the collection of delinquent accounts ensuring third-party payers are contacted.
  • Establishes and recommends credit and collection policies.
  • Develops and oversees business systems and works with IT to ensure timely and accurate implementation.
  • Supervises business office employees as well as phone operators
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or related field

Experience: Minimum five years of experience in a medical business office, two years as a department or office manager.

Performance Requirements:

  • Knowledge of business management and basic accounting principles to direct the business office.
  • Sufficient knowledge of policies and procedures to accurately answer questions from internal and external customers.
  • Broad-based knowledge of relevant insurance regulations and familiarity with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures for clinic operations and facilities management.
  • Skill in exercising independent judgment.
  • Skill in delegating and supervising.

We have an immediate full-time position available for a Certified Medical Assistant.  Must possess certification or registration with a national medical assistant registry.  Job duties include: taking patient vitals, gathering patient medical history, injections, administering EKG’s, preparing prior authorizations, discharging patients, communicating well with hall nurse, inputting requisite information into EMR system.  

Hours are M-F 8-5, but must be flexible.
